"WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?" Film Screening
From the producing team that won an Academy Award for Born Into Brothels
Free Film Screening: Please RSVP as there will be limited seating!
at The ARTbar Hands-on Studio in the Santa Ana Artist Village (see below
for address and RSVP instructions)
A
woman still has to choose. What if she didn't? . . .
Five women whose stories will outrage and ultimately INSPIRE you to do the
things that bring you JOY!
"WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?" examines some of the most pressing issues of our
time: parenting and creativity, partnering and independence, economics and
art. This gorgeously photographed film follows five women artists -- from
Hawaii to Santa Fe, from Ohio to New York -- as they navigate the challenges
of making work outside the elite art world.
A
film that will affect all women to their very core, as it deals with how we
multi-task in life, many times at the expense of our own dreams -- we
encourage all women to attend, whether artists or not, as it deals with
socio-economic and daily issues that we all can relate to.
It's been heralded as "A compelling documentary film on women artists, it
explores the barriers to the creative process and how ART, ulimately
TRANSFORMS WOMEN'S LIVES and those around them." -- Cathy Malchiodi,
"Psychology Today"
A
short discussion will follow, moderated by Nicole Steiman, owner of The ARTbar
Studio and Compass Regional Representative, centered around the topics of life
balance, making time for art, the importance of support, and the barriers to
living the life of our dreams.
Everyone will leave with a gift for attending! Refreshment table available -
donations are optional.
